Confusion is currently trailing the 2019, Governorship, position of Action Alliance (AA) party in Imo State, as Mr. Leonard Oklenta and Mr. Uche Nwosu, the state Governor’s son-in-law claims ownership of
party’s ticket for the coming election .
While Leonard Okolenta, claims and insist that he won the Governorship primary election of the party duely conducted in the state, Mr. Uche Nwosu the state Governor son-in-law brandishing a ticket, says he is
the authentic Governorship candidate of the party.
Moving with the full support of the state Governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha, not minding his membership of All Progressive Congress (APC), Uche Nwosu expresses Optimism that he will emerge victorious
under the platform of the party, as the next Governor of the state.
However, some top members of All Progressives Congress (APC), in the
state who detested Governor Okorocha support of his son-in-law, Uche
Nwosu in another party said that the Governor was practicing anti-party activities against the APC.
Not minding this development, Mr. Leonard Okolenta who said he had been in the party and won the party’s ticket for the 2019 Governorship election before Nwosu came to the party through the back door,
insisted he would be the next Governor of the state under the AA platform.
Speaking through his media director, Mr. Okolenta maintained that no amount of intimidation and threat would make him abandoned the ticket to Uche Nwosu.
According him “I am optimistic that I would be sworn in as the next Governor of the state next year”, adding that he is bordered about what he called “double standard” by the national leadership of the party.
He challenged the national leadership of the party, to prove their high level of integrity, pointing out that the national chairman of the party Mr. Kenneth Udeze was working to rob him of the ticket which
was given to him by the delegates of the party during primary election in the state
