Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai of Kaduna State on Tuesday called on Gbagyi people to take  advantage of investments the state government is making and enroll their wards into schools.

The Governor on Tuesday received HRH, Dr. Danjuma Barde, the Esu Chikun (previously known as Sa Gbagyi) and members of his Traditional Council who were at the Government House to thank the Governor for elevating Chikun Chiefdom to first class status.

El-Rufai said Gbagyi people are peace loving  who accommodate, but what borders him is that they move away from people.

The state Governor persuaded the Gbagyi people to stop moving away from people.

“Rather we should build the state together,” he said.

He urged their leaders to sensitise the people on the importance of enrolment of their children to school.

“They are the future of tomorrow,” he said.

According to him, his administration is willing to correct what is perceived at the right time, hence it’s the best time to elevate the Gbagyi chiefdoms into first class.

Adding that he found them to be peaceful people, honest, with integrity, adding that the future of Kaduna State is going to be determined by Chikun Local Government Area.

Stressing that, Chikun Local Government and Gbagyi people have shown them love and he prayed for more blessings to  the kingdom towards the development of the state.

el-Rufai commended HRH, Dr. Danjuma Barde for his quality leadership to various ethnic and religious groups within his domain.

The leader of the delegation, Dr. Danjuma Barde, said their mission to Government House was to thank the state government for elevating their people at the appointed time, stressing that they are grateful, noting that they believed that during his tenure the Gbagyi people will be elevated to first class.

He said the responsibility that has added to them will yield positive results as he prayed for peace in the state.
