While commenting on the concert, Pastor Akpere said, “I believe this gathering is a gathering of people that have come to worship their father in spirit and truth just has scripture says.
Pastor Akpere, a physically challenged person who was the guest Minister however urged the Youths to have focus on what should be their contributions to the society and to the political development of the country.
He noted that the roles of the youth in the electoral process cannot be overemphasised as they constitute larger percentage of the population, he said they must be positively involved as they determined the future of the nation.
“My advise for this students is that they should open their eyes to look at the various candidates comes to their ways come 2019 general elections and not to be used by any politicians”.
He said further, “We must shun being use by this power hunting politicians littering all over the place. In 2019, anyone who want to give you any amount to vote please shun such because whatever they will take from you when they have come into power will never be compare to what they have given you during the elections. So we must look well and shun vote buying, we must shun being use as political thugs by this power hunting and gridding politicians.
“It will be climaxing in 2019 general elections, it’s time for God to move in Nigeria. Type of the people we need at this time are digital people, people with digital mindset, character, people who can drive this country scientifically and technologically, people that can drive this country to the promise land”.
Speaking in the same vein, the Chairman of the Choir Concert, Olayemi Akinsuyi a 500level Project Management said the concert was a yearly programme which was to draw students closer to God through worship, praises and meditation of the word.
Akinsuyi on behalf of his fellow students also added his voice to the ‘Not too young to run’ saying that now that the President had signed into law the bill ‘not too young to run’, that would encourage full participation of youths in politics.
He said, “we are the future of tomorrow and being a Christian organization we have the tendency of actually making this country change for the better.
“I will advise my fellow students, youths to go out in mass to vote for the person of their choice, someone that will change this country for good come 2019 general elections and we can only do this by getting our PVCs. In the area of academics, I will encourage my fellow students to face their studies squarely in order to obtain good grades and have good personal relationship with God”.
