The Democratic Support Group (DSG) has called on Nigerian politicians to promote peace and national unity during campaigns as the 2019 general election is closer.
The group stated this in a communique signed by it’s secretary-general, Malam Adamu Dan Sani at the end of it’s one-day meeting held in Kano, urging all aspirants and candidates to shun utterances that may bring confusion to Nigeria’s democratic practice.
The statement further said that the aspirants and candidates must bear in mind that Nigeria is their country, therefore all hands must be on deck to ensure that peace and unity reigns at all levels.
It called on the good citizens of Nigeria to always abide by the law and order for better living.
In conclusion, DSG assured that it would join hands with other top ranking NGO’s to commence peace and unity awareness campaigns in order to bring sanity to Nigeria’s democracy before the forthcoming general elections.
