A front line  politician and member of the board of trustee of the United Peoples Party (UPP) in Imo State, Professor Francis C. Dike SAN has described as unfortunate, the threat by the Miyetti  Allah group to forcefully remove from office the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki.

Addressing journalists in Owerri on Friday, Professor Dike noted the danger in setting such precedence

He believes that though Nigeria is practising democracy and a Nation of multiple ethnic groups, no ethnic group has any right to oust any principal officer of the government not to talk of the number three citizen of the country except the National Assembly.

He however, cautioned against such threats by any group especially now that every effort is being made to keep Nigeria one and indivisible.

Prof. Dike, a Senior Advocate Nigeria, said whatever happens depends on the strength of the Senate,  adding that the statement of  Miyetti Allah was very unfortunate in view of the perception people have of them with regards the herdsmen.

According to him, that statement of threat does not mean well for the prevailing politics in Nigeria and could threaten  democracy, if actually the group made such a threat statement.

Prof.Dike who was former attorney general and commissioner of justice in Imo State said that he regrets reading such a statement of threat to the number three citizen of the country.

On the political development in Im State where the state Governor, Rochas Okorocha has been making efforts to impose his son in-law,  Uche Nwosu in 2019 as the governor, Prof. Dike said that he finds it difficult to find out what informed the type of confidence Rochas Okorocha is exhibiting concerning this.

He noted with dismay that presently Imo State is the number 32 state in the country in terms of development which means that the state still remain underdeveloped.

According to him, the state is culturally, socially, politically and economically backward.

He said that there was nothing on ground that makes it reasonable to say that Rochas Okorocha can choose an acceptable leader for Imo people except the fact that the people are Impotent.
