A suspected female trafficker who charges a quarterly sum of N600,000 from her victims for their freedom has been nabbed by the Anambra State police command.
The suspect, Amaka Adiri of No 24 Vbioke Street, Benin city who plys her trade in the West African country of Ghana ran out of luck while trying to convey two female to Ghana for prostitution.
The two ladies; Gold Ebube Nwogazi and Chidera Paul were saved following an intelligence report by Police Detectives attached to Oyi division.
The state police public relations officer, SP Haruna Mohammed who confirmed the incident said that preliminary investigation revealed that the victims were to pay the sum of N600, 000 each to the suspect in three months’ time while in Ghana in order to regain their Freedom.
He said, “The suspect threatened one Gold Ebube Nwogazi, aged 21years of Ugwunabo LGA of Abia State and seized her bag at Awkuzu in Anambra State for her refusal to join her to Ghana for Prostitution.
“Another victim, one Chidera Paul of Umuoba Village Isiala Ngwa, Abia State was also liberated from the suspect who she equally lured for the same purposes.”
The PPRO said that the case was still under investigation even as the command work out modalities to charge the suspect to Court for prosecution.
