President Muhammadu Buhari has urged Nigerians to rise above personal, group, sectarian and other interest and promotes harmony and tolerance at all times.
The President also urged all Muslims to use Eld-el-Kabir occasion for sober reflection, self-examination and strive to be good ambassadors of their religion by upholding high moral values.
President Buhari reminded Muslims that the occasion is a remembrance of the submission of Prophet Ibrahim Alaihis-Salam to his creator.
He said the lesson taught the Muslim world the value of sacrifice in relating with one another and when it comes to nation building.
President Muhammadu Buhari said religion is a major factor in influencing human behaviour towards good conduct and actions.
The President stressed that fighting corruption was a task that must be done in order to protect the larger interest of the ordinary Nigerians who are the worst victims of diseases, poverty, malnutrition and other affliction among others.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has joined the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Faruk Umar and other Muslims Ummah to observe the Eid-el-Kabir two Raka’at prayers at Kofar Arewa Eid ground in Daura town.
The President had the honour of performing the symbolic slaughtering of the ram at the Eid ground.
President Buhari who wished all Nigerians happy and successful Sallah celebrations expressed delight that the country was spending less on of imports, describing it as a major boost to the agricultural policies of his administration.
Similarly, the President received members of the National Youths Service Corps serving in Daura community an audience that has become part of his schedules during the Sallah celebration in the past years.
Reaffirming his support to the scheme established in nineteen seventy three, the President told the corps members it is better to know all parts of the country then for people to be state inclined.
In his remark, the Corps Liaison Officer Jibrin Ishak thanked the President for prioritizing the welfare and a secured future for the Nigerian youths through his style of leadership and development initiatives.
