APC Factional Leaders Defect To PDP As Udom Dares To Expose Akpabio

Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State

All Progressives Congress (APC) factional leader in Akwa Ibom State, Dr. Udoma Bob Ekarika on Monday shocked the party as he defected to the  Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at a reception rally in Onna organised by people of Eket Senatorial district of the state for Governor Udom Emmanuel second term bid.

Udoma who was a factional state chairman of APC from the recent state’s primary of the party in the state, led others chieftains including his Vice Chairman, Mr. Emmanuel Udo, Dr. Emmanuel Ikpe, Chief Ani Asikpo and Mr. Suny Udom to declare for PDP.

He said the decision became necessary in order to distinguish themselves from the “bad peoples” in APC, and described APC in the state as disorganized.

Udom said that he was defecting with the only reasonable people in the party to the PDP.
“APC in the state is dominated by bad people and so I decided to bring out the few good people and all of us have now joined the PDP. We are ready to work for the good of our state with Governor Udom Emmanuel.

“From my interaction with the Governor I have discovered that he is a good material. Emmanuel is a material and is good enough for us. We don’t want any other person for now.” Udom declared.
It would be recalled that the former APC factional state chairman emerged the chairman in a paralleled primary while where Mr. Ime Okpido from another camp was officially declared the chairman of APC in the state.

Meanwhile Governor Udom Emmanuel has threatened to expose the ills of his predecessor and former Senate Minority leader Chief Godswill Akpabio if provoked.

Emmanuel who stated this during his speech at the rally, said he could be forced to break his silence on the administration of the former governor if Akpabio and the APC continue to make unfounded and baseless allegations against him and his administration.

“There is a difference between falsehood, truth and facts but I will not delve into falsehood because I have the facts. I have been silent all these while but could open up and let’s see who will tell the truth” The Governor threatened.

Emmanuel said he remained committed to the Akwa Ibom project and would continue to work towards the unity, development and prosperity of the state.

The Governor stated that he would not be frustrated in the development of the Ibaka Seaport as a strategic facility for the economic development of the state adding that his achievements in health, education, sports and roads were not for politics but for prosperity.

He also announced that he would formally declare to run for a second time as governor on this Friday where he would also reeled out his scorecards since he assumed office as the governor of the state in 2015.
