Lalong Creates New, Upgrades Existing Traditional Institutions

The creation of new Chiefdoms and upgrading of existing ones by Governor Simon Bako Lalong was aimed at strengthening  the traditional institutions towards  meaningful impact to the peace-building architecture of the state after long aged crisis
The creation of new Chiefdoms of Ibaas in Barkin Ladi, Ngas in Kanke and Byan in Langtang South, exist under the Chairmanship of the Gbong Gwom Jos, the Ngolllong Ngas and the Ponzhi Tarok accordingly.
Furthermore, the upgrade of the Anaguta Chiefdom under the Ujah Anaguta, and the Aten Chiefdom under the Atar Aten of Ganawuri, will promote accountability of the traditional institutions.
Some of these chiefdoms created and Gazetted In 2006, but  set aside by the past administration, have been restored by the Lalong administration in the spirit of fairness, justice and emancipation.
 The state Commissioner fo Information, Yakubu Dati said “Plateau people should be rest assured that the Lalong led Rescue Administration will continue to respond to the yearning and aspirations of the people of our state.“
