School Management of Government Girls Secondary School Kabomo has established a peace club to promote peace, unity and progress among the students.
The peace club was established sequel to directive by the State Ministry of Education to all secondary schools in the state.
Following the development, the Junior Section of the School organized a Drama presentation on the importance of peace among students and general the public.
The Drama was presented in four major Nigerian Languages of Hausa, Ibo, Yoruba and Fulfulde languages.
A lecture in Arabic language was presented to the students of the school to encourage them to learn how to speak before the public in Arabic language.
Another lecture was also presented on peace which was delivered by the zonal director of Education, Alhaji Ibrahim Danjuma Malumfashi where he spoke on the concept of peace and the implication and dangers of lack of peace.
In a remarked before the Drama and lecture presentations, the Principal of the Junior Section of the School Hajiya Fatima Garba said the objectives of the peace clubs in schools were to encourage students on how to ensure descent society.
Also the Principal of Junior Section Hajiya Kulu Ladan described family, traditional and educational institutions as well as community and religious leaders as the major agents of peace in any given society.
The representative of Emir of Katsina at the occasion praised the School for the peace initiative and promised traditional rulers support to succeed.
