A 54-year-old fake Professor of Animal Husbandry, simply identified as Olayinka Emmanuel was on Monday paraded in Ibadan by the Oyo state Police Command over alleged N1 million fraud.
According to the Oyo state Commissioner of Police, Mr Abiodun Odude, the fake Professor of Animal Husbandry who claimed to be at the University of Ibadan, was nabbed by men of the Oyo State Police Command after he fraudulently collected N1m from a man under the pretext of manufacturing animal multivitamins for him.
Commissioner of Police Odude stressed that the fake Professor of Animal Husbandry acted in connivance with an accomplice, identified as Adegoke Adewumi, 53, to fraudulently obtain the sum from Kolawole Kamorudeen.
“The duo lied to the victim that they were manufacturers of animal multivitamins. Believing them, the suspect parted with the sum only to later discover that the so-called multivitamins supplied to him were grinded green beans.” he said.
CP Odude added “the suspect told police during investigation that the label was printed somewhere in the Oluwole area of Lagos State”, saying, “four cartons of the green beans branded as multivitamin were recovered in the course of investigation.”
However, the suspect, while answering questions from newsmen said he was only nicknamed ” Professor” but not that he was referring to himself as a Professor..
