Alliance for Democracy (AD) governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Engineer Oyedele Hakeem Alao has hinted that the party will win the 2019 governorship election in the state if he emerges as the AD standard bearer.
Engineer Alao said this while speaking with newsmen after submitting his letter of intent to contest the forthcoming 2019 governorship election to the AD National Chairman , Chief Joseph Avazi.
The AD governorship aspirant pointed out that with the present situation in Oyo state, it is glaring that AD remains the most credible alternative for the people of the state.
He however lauded the Alliance for Democracy leadership for being steadfast in piloting the affairs of the party and promised not to let the party down, saying “I understand how tedious it is to pilot a party like ours in this turbulent time. I commend your leadership for remaining steadfast and absolutely committed to the promotion of progressive ideology. Mr. Chairman sir, I assure you of total victory in Oyo State come 2019.”
Receiving the Oyo state governorship aspirant , the AD National Chairman, Chief Avazi, assured the aspirant of the cooperation of the leadership of the party at all time and promised a level playing ground for all aspirants.
“I welcome you dearly to the National Secretariat of our great party. You are at home. I have heard about your contributions in the Oyo State chapter of our party and I am happy meeting you today.
Let me state clearly that by the virtue of submitting this letter, you are the first and only recognized gubernatorial aspirant in Oyo State until others come forward. What I can assure you is total cooperation from the national leadership and a level playing ground during the party primaries. I urge you to continue your good work”, he said.
Engineer Alao in the letter of intent dated 8th August, 2018, made available to journalists promised to develop Oyo State in line with the manifesto of the party if he wins the primary and ultimately victorious in the general election.
The AD governorship aspirant was accompanied by his Head of Policy and Strategy, Mr. Lekan Salawu and other members of his campaign team, submitted the letter to the National Chairman last Friday, at the party’s national secretariat, Kwali Close, Area 8, Abuja.
