The Management of Adekunle Ajasin Akungba Akoko has absolved the students of the institution of any involvement in the killing of one Felix Olowookere by suspected cultists last week.
A statement by Sola Imoru
PAR/Head, Information, Protocol and Public Relations of the institution while reacting to the allegation debunked the accusation saying, students of the institution were not involved either directly or indirectly in the criminal act.
His words, “the attention of the Management of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, has been drawn to mischievous attempts by a cross section of the media to link the killing of one Felix Olowookere by suspected cultists last weekend to the students of the University”.
According to the statement, the management would like to inform the general public that the story is fallacious and misleading as neither the deceased nor his alleged killers who the Police say are at large are students of the University.
The students of the university who are currently on break following the conclusion of First Semester examinations last week, Imoru noted could not be said to be involved in the dastardly act .
He therefore implored the general public to disregard the misleading story as the University has no link whatsoever to the crime.
