Airlift Of 2,800 Katsina Pilgrims For 2018 Hajj Begins

Airlift of 2,800 for this year’s intending pilgrims from Katsina State to Saudi Arabia has begun with a warning by the state Governor Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari that any pilgrim found wanting in the holy land will be on his own.
Governor Bello Masari charged the intending pilgrims to avoid wasteful spending.
Speaking during a farewell address to the first batch of the intending pilgrims from Funtua zone held at the Pilgrims board headquarters along Daura road in Katsina metropolis. the Governor said most items to be purchased in the Holy Land have taxes placed on them and advised the pilgrims to avoid carrying prohibited items to the holy land as heavy punishment awaits offenders.
The Governor also warned that government would not condone indiscipline and shoddy conduct on the part of officials while in the holy land and admonished the pilgrims to avoid vulgar utterances even when they are in difficulty while in the Holy Land as Hajj exercise demands patience and perseverance.
Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari urged Ulamas to avoid unnecessary confusion of pilgrims especially on the do’s and don’ts to ensure an acceptable Hajj.
While soliciting for prayers from the pilgrims to the country governor Aminu Bello Masari assured of government commitment to support the Pilgrim’s Welfare Board to continue to record more successes during hajj exercise.
The Chairman of the pilgrims board Alhaji Salisu Ado Shinkafi acknowledged the efforts of all stakeholders who have hands in ensuring that the desired successes are achieved in the twenty-eighteen.
Also speaking, the executive director of the Board Muhammad Abu Rimi disclosed that a total of two thousand eight hundred intending pilgrims including officials from the state would participate in the twenty eighteen hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia.
While applauding the efforts of the current administration in providing needed funds for a successful hajj exercise, the executive director urged intending pilgrims to be steadfast in praying for the state and the country at large.
The representative of the Emirs of Katsina and Daura, Alhaji Sule Sada Kofar Sauri assured the support of the traditional rulers for the success of the Hajj exercise.
Two Islamic Scholars Sheikh Musa Muhammad  Tudun Wada and Sheikh Mustapha Dankama spelt out the right steps to be followed for an acceptable Hajj.
