APGA Harvests Members From APC As Thousands Decamp In Nasarawa

Immediate past Gov Tanko Almakura of Nasarawa State

As the factional crisis of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) deepens at the national level, the fortunes of the party depleted in Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State as scores of its members defected to the opposition All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

Receiving the defectors, Chieftain of the party, Comr. Emmanuel Bakyu called for synergy to rescue the State in next year’s elections as he assured them of equal privilege and level playing ground.

He maintained that their defection to APGA marks the death of APC in the Area and the state at large.

He encouraged the people to continue to support APGA, saying that there is no alternative to the party in the state.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Kyuni Friday thanked the party leadership and stakeholders for receiving them with open arms.

NNN gathered that over 1,300 persons defected from the ruling and other opposition parties.
