25 Political Parties Back APC For Bauchi South Senatorial Bye-Election

As the bye-election into the Bauchi South Senatorial seat gathers momentum, twenty-five opposition political parties in the state have resolved to form an alliance with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the bid to capture the keenly contested seat.
The chairman of the alliance, Comr. Abdullahi B. Muhammad said they have realized that their aim and objective which centred on national progress, peace, security, unity and national development are similar to that of All Progressives Congress (APC).
Muhammad, who is the chairman of APA party in the state told a press conference in Bauchi Friday that they were satisfied with the progressive agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Muhammad Abubakar administrations at both federal and state levels.
“Consequently, the aligning 25 political parties have resolved to support and campaign for the candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) Bauchi state in the forthcoming bye-election for the Bauchi South senatorial seat to be conducted on 11thAugust, 2018 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)”, he said.
The resolution of the alliance has chairmen of the 25 opposition political parties in the state appended their signature on the press conference text, that are APA, YPP, LP, NCP, MPPP, UDP, NAC, DPP, ANRP, A A, MMN, PPP, AD, DPC and HOPE.
Other political parties in the state in the alliance are BNPP, FJP, LDPN, D A, NIP, Fresh P, UPN, ACPN, ADP and NUP which copies of the press conference text were sent to INEC, Commissioner of Police, State Director DSS and Commandant of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in the state.
Comr. Abdullahi Mohammad said however that the alliance is just for the Bauchi South senatorial bye-election as it has no relevant to the 2019 general elections, interestingly he said, “We are all citizens of Bauchi state”.
Muhammad, stated that the aligning political parties in the state have not consulted their national secretariats in Abuja before taking the decision, stressing that it is  purely centred on the interest and benefit of Bauchi state that are always in their hearts.
