Osun PDP Primary; Chief Babatope Sues For Caution

A Chieftain of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Chief Ebenezer Babatope has called on the seven governorship aspirants of the party in the state to bury their hatchets by teaming up with the winner of July 14, 2018 primary.

Chief Ebenezer Babatope who is also a member of Board of Trustees BOT of the party  was reacting to a recent press conference addressed by the aspirants pn Thursday in Oshogbo, urged them to be magnanimous enough to work with Senator Ademola Adeleke that emerged as the winner of the primary.
According to him, there was no point reneging on the earlier agreement which was entered into by all contestants before going into the primary, having said that they were all ready to work with whoever emerges as the winner.
“What should be paramount in our collective minds now is how we could team up together and work for the success of the party by September 22, 2018.
“The issue at hand should be the interest of the party and not an individual since the party is more greater than every member no matter how highly placed.
“we should try as much as possible to get to government by September 22, 2018   in the state, and continue with our good work of PDP while we were in power”.
He also called on the Elders of the party, like Chief Shuaib Oyedokun to coordinate other stake holders to enjoin all the aggrieved party members to forget their differences and work for the progress of the party now that election is very much around the corner.
He described the aspirants as responsible and highly regarded leaders of the party, noting that nothing will be gained by divisions within the party organisation.
