The National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) has said that the Zamfara State Government has commenced payment of state allowances to corps members serving in the state.
The State NYSC Coordinator, Malam Dahunsi Muhammad made the disclosure at the swearing-in ceremony of the 2018 Batch B corps members posted to the state at the NYSC orientation camp, Tsafe on Thursday.
Muhammad noted that the gesture, apart from improving the welfare of the corps members, would also enhance NYSC service delivery in the state.
“As we all know, the state government promised to reinstate the payment of state allowances to corps, I am happy to tell you that the state government has started payment of the allowances, he said.
He commended the state government for the gesture and also seek for more support especially in the continuation of projects in the orientation camp.
In his remarks, Governor Abdul’aziz Yari Abubakar represented by the State’s Commissioner for Youths, Sports and Skills Acquisition, Alhaji Abdullahi Muhammad Gurbin-bore assured the state government readiness to support the NYSC scheme.
He urged the corps members to be law abiding and integrate into the people as the people of the state are loving and caring people.
Over 1,800 out of the 2,100 corps members of the 2018 Batch B, posted to the state have been sworn-in during the ceremony.
