Security: KASU To Partner NSCDC

KASU VC, Professor Muhammad Tanko

Kaduna State University (KASU) is to collaborate with the state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in security services to enhance conducive environment for learning and research in the institution.

The need for synergy in security was brought to the fore when the newly appointed Chief Security Officer of the university, Col Ibrahim Abdullahi rtd, paid a courtesy visit on the State Commandant.

It is hoped that the synergy would result in improved security arrangements with the view to ensuring a better atmosphere for high academic attainment.

Col Abdullahi who led a delegation of other security staff on a familiarization visit to the state headquarters of the corps, commended the good working relationship between the university and the corps.

He also noted with commendation the resilience of the operatives of the corps deployed to the institution, seeking for additional deployment of armed personnel to tackle the menace of phones snatching, drug abuse and drug peddling among others.

Abdullahi said deployment of more armed operatives of the corps will complement efforts of the institution’s security department whose areas of operation is limited, thus leading to challenges in dealing with hoodlums in some locations around the school.

Other areas of the collaboration include VIP protection and man-power development in disputes resolution which is believed would impact positively.
