The Adamawa State House of Assembly, has summoned three top government functionaries to appear before it latest by Tuesday to answer questions patterning the discharge of their responsibilities.
The top government officials are the Deputy Govenor, Martins Nasir Babale who also oversees the ministry of Special Duties, the Commissioner for Finance, Sali Yunusa and the Secretary to the State Government, Dr.Umar Baba Bindir.
The members of the State Assembly gave the sermon during their sitting on Monday, after resuming from a six weeks recess.
The Deputy Governor and Commissioner Special Duties is wanted to clarify issues in relation to the state of insecurity in the state and role of the ministry in the distribution, disbursement of funds, and relief material means for displaced persons.
The House noted with dismay the way and manner the ministry is handling distribution of relief materials, as such materials are being sold in open market in the state.
The house also want the ministry to clarify measure been adopted by the state government in collaboration with the security agencies to stop the killings.
It added that for now, six local government areas in the southern senatorial zone in the state are no go area as attacks and killings have become the order of the day.
Dr Umar Bindir, the secretary to the state government , is summoned to clarify N6 billion Naira multi sectoral world bank grant to the state government.
On the other hand, the Commissioner for Finance Sali Yunusa is being invited to give detailed statement of active and dormant state account and revenue accrued to the state between January and July 2018.
The house also ordered the Commissioner for Finance to come along with all the relevant executive officers connected with the Internally Generated Revenue board, and the Executive Chairman of the Board
Hamman Adama Njabari.
The members also directed that all the officer should appear in their persons without proxy.
