Traveling documents for intending pilgrims in Katsina State to Saudi Arabia are currently in the custody of the State Pilgrims Welfare Board, the Executive Director of the Board, Alhaji Muhammad Abu Rimi revealed this during stakeholders meeting on Hajj operation in Katsina.
Alhaji Abu Rimi explained that the documents include visa, passport and Basic Traveling Allowance -B.T.A., pointing out that greater part of the pilgrims have attended biometric data capturing exercise with only little number to be attended in due course.
He disclosed that the state government in collaboration with various religious organizations conducted workshop for intending pilgrims at state and Local Government levels just as the board had completed arrangement for distribution of uniforms and luggage to them explaining that pilgrims from Funtua, Malumfashi, Dutsinma and Katsina Local Government areas would first be attended.
Other people who attended the meeting chaired by the Chairman of board Alhaji Salisu Ado Shinkafi includes the Coordinator North-West zone National Hajj Commission NAHCON, Alhaji Lawal Ahmad.
Alhaji Lawal Ahmad also gave details on preparations made by the commission for a hitch free Hajj operation.
The meeting which was held in the conference hall of the board was also attended by the senior management of the board, security agents, officials of Ummaru Musa International Airport and some bank officials.
