Police Arrest 4 Bandits, Recover Arms In Zamfara

The Zamfara State Police Command has arrested four suspected notorious bandits terrorizing the state.
The raid by the Police, which was carried out on criminal hideouts in Zawiyya/Badarawa and Birnin Yero both in Gusau and Shinkafi LGAs of the state led to the capture of the four suspects.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Zamfara State Police Command, SP Mohammed Shehu said the arrest followed a raiding operation by the IGP Special Tactical Squad in conjunction with the command’s tactical teams.
“The Operation which lasted for several hours led to the arrest of four (4) suspects who have been terrorising the state with their nefarious criminality  ranging from kidnapping, armed robbery, abduction”, he said.
Shehu added “On 15th July, the Command Tactical teams arrested 72 Suspected Bandits at some identified criminals hideouts who were using unregistered motorcycles to ferry kidnapped victims to their locations. Equally, 73 unregistered motorcycles reasonably suspected to have been snatched or robbed were recovered”.
The PPRO said the state Police Commissioner, Mr Kenneth Ebrimson had resolved to make Zamfara hell for bandits and other criminal elements.
“The Commissioner of Police while briefing the press warns all criminal elements in the state to repent and surrender their arms to the Police or face dare consequences”, he said.
He said 16 locally fabricated guns, five Cutlasses and one sharp knife were recovered from them the suspects.
The four suspects arrested are, Uzaifa Ahmad, Umar Sani, Surajo Ibrahim and Murtala Sifyanu.
