Ahead of the 2019 election primaries of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Sule Lamido, former Jigawa State Governor, stormed Yola, the Adamawa State capital to canvass for the support of delegates.
Lamido who was received at the PDP secretariat by the state excos on Tuesday, said that he is the only credible aspirant among all those aspiring for the presidential ticket of the party.
According to him, he stood by the party when it was passing through the storms, adding that the likes of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and others deserted the party, when they were needed most.
Lamido charged Adamawa delegates to choose credible aspirants who have shown commitment to the party and not those with the habit of abandoning their party during trying times.
He sees the need for PDP to produce credible candidate that would defeat the incumbent of the ruling party.
The former governor declared himself as most suitable aspirant to be rallied around since he never dumped the party since formation for other platform.
Speaking on the current situation in the country, the presidential aspirant said the All Progressives Congress (APC), has failed Nigerians, it has equally failed to deliver on its campaign promises.
Lamido disclosed that the ruling party has worsened the plight of Nigeria and Nigerians, citing the state of insecurity and killings going on in the country as reasons to vote out the APC
He therefore, challenge eligible voters to address the current challenges facing the nation by using their vote, which is their power to vote the APC out of power, to safeguard their future and that of Nigeria.
The state Chairman of the PDP, Barrister Tahir Shehu thanked Lamido for the visit and promised to give him all the support in view of his political experience.
