A PDP stalwart in Bauchi State, Hassan Mohammed Sherriff has described as insane and bastardization of the PDP the wooing of former president Obasanjo back into the party by its NWC led by national chairman, Uche Secondus.
He said for Obasanjo who rode onto the presidency on the platform of the PDP to have torn his membership card and left the party after ruling the country for eight consecutive years, and for the PDP new NWC to now woo back Obasanjo means bastardization of the PDP.
Sherriff in a press conference in Bauchi on Monday explained that the action of the PDP NWC under the national chairmanship of Uche Secondus is a clear relegation of the party to the background, and bastardization of the PDP supremacy on its membership.
“What the PDP NWC is looking from Obasanjo who only few years ago threw the party into the dustbin by tearing his membership card is the big question the entire membership of the PDP and its supporters would be tempted to ask”, Sherriff queried?
It is for this singular and dastardly act, Sherriff bowed, that he publicly announced his exit from the PDP after serving it for over ten years.
Sherriff, also the Sarkin Arewa of Bauchi gave another reason for leaving the PDP as the virtuperations of the party members in the state against the APC government in Bauchi and its governor, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar.
He noted that the campaigns of calumny against the APC government in Bauchi state by the opposition PDP members and their cronies have to a significant extent retarded the wheels of progress of the state.
Sarkin Arewa Sherriff also described the utterances of the PDP members in Bauchi as unpatriotic, insane, and calculated attempt to ruin the state.
He said another reason for his dumping of the PDP was the retrogressive act of the National Assembly members that deliberately delayed the passage of the 2018 budget for seven months thereby putting a cog on the wheels of national development.
Hassan Sherriff, who denied pitching tent with the ruling APC in the state, said however that he would soon announce his new party with an unprecedented followership.
