The Osun state Executive members of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) on Thursday announced the immediate indefinite suspension from office of the party’s Chairman in the state, Chief Ademola Ishola.
Also, the party announced Alhaji Ganiyu Babatunde as the acting chairman of the party in Osun State.
This was made known by the Osun state SDP erstwhile state secretary Elder Timothy Agboola and 8 other executive members of the party while reading the outcome of the council’s meeting.
According to Elder Agboola, Chief Ishola was suspended over his recent outbust that Senator Iyiola Omisore’s governorship aspirant was unknown to the party, Senator Iyiola Omisore and others .
Elder Agboola while reading the resolutions of the meeting of the Osun state SDP executives, gave other reasons from the indefinite suspension of Chief Ishola to include his alleged failure to render account of over N6million accrued to him while in office as chairman.
The SDP leader listed other resolutions of the executive committee, as Chief Ishola’s “misrepresentation of the state executive committee to the public through unauthorised press statement.”
Other alleged offences of the suspended SDP Chairman include alleged “usurping the powers of the state executive committee by refusing to call state executive meetings for the past three years.
“Refusal to implement party resolutions and decisions at the State and National levels on the constitution of the state steering committee. Failure to render an account of party grants and subventions collected for the past 5 years.”
It will be recalled that Chief Ishola few days ago said Senator Omisore was not yet a member of the party in the state, but merely a friend SDP.
