Post Graduate Students Union (PGSG) of the University of Calabar (Unical), have endorsed the current developmental strides been undertaken by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Zana Akpagu in the campus and its environs.
The endorsement was contained in a letter signed by the unuon’s secretary general, Levi David which was made available to media men in Calabar yesterday.
The union commended the him over the achievements and successes recorded under two years of his administration.
According to union, “the strides of the Prof Akpagu led administration includes the area of restoration of pride of students on campus, massive ongoing infrastructural development, cordial relationship with staff and the improved aesthetics cum cleanliness of the institution’s landscape among others”.
The union also noted with pride the manner in which the Vice Chancellor conducted the recent gubernatorial election in Anambra state, describing him as “a dependable umpire and worthy ambassador”.
It congratulated him being recipient of several awards such as Award of Excellence for Selfless service by NIPR, Best University Website, Best Federal University on Social Media and Best Performing Vice Chancellor in Nigeria as recent achievements engendered by hard work and unbiased services.
While pledging to partner with the him to take the university to another level of development, it however urged him not to relax in his good works or be deterred by distraction from what they described as “chronic critics”.
Earlier, Akpagu lauded the Union for the confidence reposed on him and promised to aggressively carry out more development on the campus especially on issues that concerns the students.
