The Senator representing Ondo Central District, Chief Tayo Alasoadura has rejoiced with the former lawmaker representing Akure North/South District, Hon Ifedayo Abegunde for his appointment as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) in Ondo State.
Alasoadura, the Chairman ,Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream) in a statement in Akure, described the appointment as well-deserved considering Abegunde’s unalloyed support to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) which facilitated his victory at the polls.
The lawmaker who contested against Abegunde during the 2015 Senatorial election praised his courage especially when he was removed from office as member of the National Assembly through Court verdict instituted against him by former governor Olusegun Mimiko.
Alasoadura described Abegunde as grassroots politician who commands respect from his numerous supporters because of his leadership qualities.
The Senator urged him to remain steadfast in carrying out the crucial assignment before him, while praying to God to grant him wisdom to excel in his duties.
Alasoadura also praised Akeredolu for recognising commitment and loyalty, assuring that the present All Progressives Congress Congress (APC) will bring rapid development to the state through proactive governance.
Alasoadura urged the citizenry to support Akeredolu’s government, stressing that they should maintain peace at all times to facilitate development.
