An agriculturalist and a community leader in Soba Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Alhaji Kabir Ibrahim Awe has lauded Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai’s for this desire to make Kaduna State one of the leading wheat farming production in Nigeria.
Alhaji Kabir Awe stated this while fielding questions from journalists in Zaria on the current wheat farming programme engaged by the government.
He said, about 10,000 hectares of farm land has been provided at Ruwan Sayin Area of Kubau Local Government Area where 1,000 Youths were engaged in the dry farming season this year.
According to him, agriculture in Nigeria and Kaduna State is no longer a rainy season event, and call on the Governor to build more dams and canals as well to provide good quality seeds and seedlings in order to increased the production capacity.
The community leader also said the engagement of youths and unemployed graduate into the farming family by Governor El-Rufai will definitely boost agriculture in the state and will make the youths to be self dependent.
Awe said all the success recorded on wheat farming programme by the Kaduna State Government is as a result of support and cooperation he is receiving from members of the State House of Assembly whom are working towards making Kaduna State an example on agricultural transformation.
