The two days of Kaduna Economic and Investment 2016 summit came to a close Thursday at the Indoor Hall of Murtala Square as Governor Nasir El-Rufai announced a ground breaking of biggest poultry/hatchery in Sub Saharan Africa worth 150million US dollars to be performed today.
The Olam’s poultry project to be built in Gwagwada, Chikun Local Government Area, kilometre 24 Kaduna – Abuja Express way would be performed by the Minister of Agriculture, Chief Audu Ogbe.
Governor El-Rufai also announced that Dangote Group would establish a 10 million dollars tomato farming and processing company in the state.
Governor El-Rufai while explaining why investors should embrace business opportunities in the state, said Kaduna was a gateway to Northern Nigerian market with effective land management, raw material and manpower availability, active security and conducive environment among others.
Highlights of the summit stressed that the advice to Kaduna to improve competitiveness by developing clusters of production, federal government plan to partner with states to improve collection of statistics and trains unemployed youth, creation of ICT hub in the state among others.
“Kaduna State Government is to adopt Federal Government formula for developing the solid minerals sector. A proposal for world class developers to come to Kaduna State to train the youths (science oriented) on IT and development of software.
“Development of tourism sector. Developing mining as a step for enhancing industrialization and job creation,” the Governor announced.
The last day of the summit was witnessed by top dignataries in business, government, politics, sport and entertainment.
