Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has appealed to the people of the state to remain calm and allow the government to find a lasting solution to clashes between herdsmen and farmers.

Governor Ortom made the appeal while addressing the people of Nongov at Saghev in Guma Local Government Area of the state.

He assured the people that his recent meeting with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was already yielding results as the Presidency had deployed a delegation to ascertain the level of crises in Agatu between herdsmen and farmers with a view to ending the clashes.

The Governor thanked the people of Nongov for the support given him as Governor and restated the commitment of his administration to constructing roads in the area, building primary health centres and numerous other projects for the people.
