Buhari’s Ministers not concern about wealth but zeal to advance Nigeria – Shittu

Minister of Communications, Barrister Adebayo Shittu at the weekend said Ministers in President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet are not concerned about material wealth but the zeal to change the nation and move Nigeria forward.
The Minister who disclosed this in Iseyin while speaking at a civic reception organized for him by the Oke Ogun Development Council (ODC), noted that all the serving Ministers under President Buhari have passion to serve Nigeria and are ready to contribute their quota to the development of the country.
“We, the Ministers in the government led by General Mohammadu Buhari have passion to serve Nigeria, we are not concerned about material wealth but the zeal to change the nation, and move Nigerian forward is our guiding principle. I will make sure all the Ministers, ministries and agencies involved come to Oke Ogun for assessment and take necessary steps that will hasten and enhance development of Oke Ogun”, he said.
Barrister Shitu then lauded the Oke Ogun Development Council for the honour done him promising not to betray the confidence reposed in him as a Minister and eyes of the people of Oke Ogun and Oyo state in the government .
“I think you know me very well, many of you can define me in term of incorruptibility and performance and I will not disappoint you .I want to task the leaders of Oke Ogun and everybody concerns in the development to set a target through agenda for the development and place it before the presidency and state government, I will use my links and power as a Minister of the federal republic of Nigeria to push it for action and I can assure you by the end of this administration Oke Ogun would have experience an overall transformation”.
Earlier, the chairman conference of Oke Ogun traditional and the Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Dr Abdulganiyu Adekunle asked politicians in Oke Ogun to harmonize their thought and ensure they produce a governor of the state from the Oke Ogun region of Oyo State in 2019.
The royal father stressed that it was unfortunate that Oke Ogun is witnessing slow phase of development while helping other zones in the state to be governor, adding that “it is the turn of Oke Ogun so that they can also experience more development.
“ You politicians should work together and mobilize people from other regions too to support us, don’t bring anything less than governorship candidate from Oke Ogun to my palace, don’t take Deputy position, we all own the state and we also have the right to rule this state just like every other zone have done”
Speaking at the reception, the Asiwaju of Oke Ogun , Professor Dibu Ojerinde and former minister of state for Agriculture, Chief Michael Bamidele Dada advised the Minister to always give priority to Oke Ogun development in his agenda and facilitate developmental projects that will enhance the advancement of the region
