Christmas: ACF felicitates with Christians
By; Mohammad Ibrahim, Kaduna.
Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) felicitates with all Nigerians especially the Christian faithful in this Yuletide.
The 25th December of every year commemorates the birthday of Jesus Christ, the messiah.
Christians all over the world celebrate this day with prayers and activities of selflessness, good neighborliness and love for the common good of the society.
ACF in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Muhammed Ibrahim said the period also gives the Christians the opportunity to reflect on the life and good teachings of Jesus Christ especially his tolerance, love, forgiveness and self sacrifice.
ACF, while wishing Nigerians especially Christians happy celebrations, urges all Nigerians, both high and the lowly, to practice the virtues preached and lived by Jesus.
ACF also called on political leaders to provide credible leadership and good governance that is free of injustice, corruption and other vices that have characterised the socioeconomic and political development.
It said “The period should also be dedicated to prayers for our gallant soldiers fighting to end the Boko Haram insurgency in the North Eastern part of the country.
“In addition, Government at all levels should seriously engage and educate the people on the real issues of insecurity and the need to be more security conscious always.
ACF called upon Nigerians to fervently pray, support and cooperate with the Buhari administration in order to reap the benefits of the sacrifices made to effect change during the 2015 general elections.
“The Government of President Buhari must also ensure that its campaign promises are honestly and sincerely implemented,” the group said.
