Council of Imams and Ulama supports El-Rufai’ decision on El Zakzaky

Kaduna State Council of Imams and Ulama had declared its support for the State governor Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai on his decision over the recent clash between Nigerian Army and the Islamic Movement of Nigeria known as Shi’ite in Zaria.
The Chairman Council, Sheik Usman Babantule made this known during a courtesy call to Gov El-rufai in his office in Kaduna
He said there was the need for proper investigations into the crisis and for the government and security agents to take actions to avert recurrence of the incident in the state and beyond. He called for the review of the activities of the group in the state in the last ten years to bring a lasting solution to such acts that led to the upheavals.
He also advice that the Judicial Commission of inquiry set up by the state government to investigate the crisis endeavour to reach out to individuals and groups within and around the neighborhood where the incident occurred.
He stressed the need for the sustenance of adequate attention to protection of lives and property.
Responding Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai assured that Government will continue to do its best in providing security to the people. He said, his administration is doing its best to ensure that its give the best to the people in terms of security, health care facilities and education.
According him, its priority remains children in the state have access to affordable education, better and improved health care service among others.
He said, the government would review the Zaria incident in the last 30 years and the genesis of the problem in other to find a lasting solution to it. He reaffirmed that all organization, citizens, religious or social should respect the law and operate within the confine of the constituted authority.
