Shiite/Buratai clash: El-rufai calls for calm, beef up security in Zaria

Following the class between the Shiite sect and the motorcade of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Yusuf Buratai that left atleast three members of the sect dead, Kaduna State Governor Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-rufai has called for calm assuring that the situation is under control while security has been beefed up in Zaria to forestall any untoward happenings
In a statement by the Samuel Aruwan, Media aide to the governor, El-rufai was said to have spoken on phone with Sheik Ibraheem Al-Zakzaky and later proceeded to Zaria to see things for himself.
“He later met with Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Butatai in Depot Nigerian Army, Zaria immediately after the passing out parade ceremony.
“The situation is calm and security has been beefed up in Zaria” the statement assured.
