FRSC CRST Command promotes officers, challenges them on greater service
By; Vitalis Ugoh, Calabar.
The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC), Cross River Command, Ikechukwu Lawrence Igwe, has called on the newly promoted officers and men of the command to see their promotions as a challenge to offer greater services to the nation.
He made the call while performing the official decoration of the nine newly promoted officers to their next rank in the state command.
Igwe said that those who were being decorated were amongst the 907 road safety officers who went through the written and physical examinations of the Corp as approved for promotion by President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to him, “promotion is not automatic. You have to pass through rigorious processes before you earn or merit your promotion. The processes include physical fitness test, computer based examinations and written test before you are promoted”.
He said that “anybody who scores 59.99 percent will not be accepted. Everything about the Corp is of standard, adding that however “promotion comes from God”.
The Sector Commander said that “now that you have been promoted, it is a big challenge to you. It calls for extra challenges and expectations”.
He therefore reminded those who have not had their promotion to get prepared from February 2016 to face the hurdle of promotion as it is no longer uhuru.
In his goodwill message, Mr. John Omori, on behalf of Special Marshal Unit, congratulated the newly promoted officers and men of the command and urged them to be alive up to their responsibilities.
He declared “your decoration today should not be seen as your limit but should be seen a stepping stone to more promotions in future”. Omori urged them to be of good behaviour especially as they serve the generality of the public on daily basis.
Earlier, the Unit Head of the Corp in Ikom, SRC L.I. Omorogibe, on behalf of the newly promoted officers thanked God for choosing them for the service of the nation.
He enjoined his colleagues to live up to the expectations and ensure that the standards of the Corp is lifted higher than what it is today as one of the best federal institutions in the country.
Others are RC Cletus O Ibete, RC, D0 Mbu, Rc Friday Ovburoro, Rc. Udak Peter Akpan, Rc. Ambrose O. Ezeh, Rc. F.E. Ndimele, Rc. CC Isaiah and Rc. IU Otu.
