Leader of the Fulani Community in the South West, Alhaji Haruna Maiyasi, the Sardaunan Yamma has said the Fulani has set up a Surveillance Committee to liaise with the affected farmers and herdsmen to douse tension in the zone.
Alhaji Maiyasin, who is also the Sarkin Sasa of Ibadanland dropped this hint during a meeting between Fulani herdsmen and farmers from Iwo, Osun State, in his Sasa Palace, Ibadan, Oyo State.

“At a meeting held with them recently at the instance of the Governor, he gave us assurance of safety of our lives and our cattle and advised us to create a committee that will sit on weekly basis to discuss harmonious relationship with farmers in the host states so that problems will be nipped in the bud without resorting to the Police.”
