No more small teams in polo’

JACOB ONJEWU DICKSON, Kaduna

With the emergence of Keffi Pony team as the champions of this year’s Fifth Chukker Polo Club and Resorts African Patrons Cup, there are no longer small teams in the game of polo, so, the teams that have made names over the years should be looking forward to more competitive games in subsequent tournaments.

Ex Rahmaniyya Polo team player, Usman A.A. Danmalam made this assertionwhile speaking to newsmen at the closing ceremony of the Patrons Cup in Kaduna.

According to him, more upsets should be expected at the Kaduna International Polo Tournament which is expected to gallop off next month at the Kaduna Polo Club.

Danmalam who rumours have linked to a team named after the Nigeria Polo Federation President, Francis Ogboro (Ogboro Riders) is optimistic that the Kaduna tournament would be highly competitive in spite of the economic downturn being witnessed in the country.
