The Speaker House of Representatives, Dr. Abbas Tajuddeen (Iyan Zazzau) has supported about 15,000 farmers with farm inputs for this year’s farming season.
Speaking at the distribution flagging off ceremony held at his Constituency office at Danmagaji along Kaduna road on Saturday, Dr. Abbas said, this is part of his campaign promises he made during his campaign tour.
Represented by the Deputy Chief of Staff, Speakers office Engr. Muhammad Jamilu Ahmed said, this support is a continuous process of Speakers support programmes.
According to him, the beneficiaries are real farmers from their respective polling units from the 13 political wards covering the Zaria Federal Constituency.
The farm input distributed include assorted fertilizer, maize and rice seeds, among others.
Some of the beneficiaries who received their items expressed their appreciation for the Speakers gesture and assured that they will used them to meet his dreams of boosting agriculture in his Constituency, Kaduna State and Nigeria at large.
Already farmers have been in their various farms as the farming season begins.
