10,000 Bauchi People Benefit From Gov Abubakar’s Free Medical Treatment

Governor Mohammed Abubakar of Bauchi State has sponsored for the free medical treatment of 10, 000 people with eyes ailment across the twenty Local Government Areas of the state which operational services are expected to commence from the 2nd March, 2018.
            
The Acting Chairman of Alkaleri Local Government Council, Engr. Buba Dada who dropped the hint for the governor’s free medical treatment during security committee meeting in Alkaleri Thursday, said that 500 people from each of the 20 LGA are to benefit from the programme.
            
Engr. Buba Dada commended Governor Mohammed Abubakar for his foresight in the rescue of people with eyes problem, saying the gesture will go a long way in boosting the health condition of individual members of the society, especially those that cannot afford such medical treatment elsewhere.

He explained that those with minor eye ailment will be treated at designated treatment centres in each of the Local Government Areas, while those that require surgical operation will be moved to Bauchi for the free medical treatment being shouldered by the governor.

Dada, who also hailed the governor for his administration’s drive of executing various development projects in Alkaleri Local Government Area that include renovation and building of schools and classrooms, health centres, and roads repairs particularly the Alkaleri – Futuk, as well as the provision of electricity in some villages, among others.

The acting chairman expressed delight with the state government’s efforts in the actualization of the Medina University campus in Alkaleri, disclosing that the Local Government Council has already secured 40 hectres piece of land for this purpose.

He observed that traditional rulers as members of the Local Government Security Committee have vital roles to play in securing the lives and property of their subjects, and called on them to evolve measures that will contain insecurity in their respective domains.
            
The Alkaleri security committee meeting has three district heads of Duguri, Gwana and Pali, village and ward heads of Futuk, Yalo, Kungimbar, Dan, Birim, Mansur, Yankari and Yuli where vital issues pertaining to security were thoroughly discussed.
            
Engr. Buba Dada however used the forum to enumerate some of his achievements within short period of four months in office which include construction of a clinic at Na’allah village and boreholes at Mainau, Fanti and Jada villages of the Local Government Area.
            
Other achievements are repairs on 36 primary schools across the Local Government Area, employment of 261 cooks for schools feeding where 26, 495 pupils are benefitting, as well as the provision last year of centres and set of computers under the N-Power and payment of allowances to those involved in registration of candidates under the programme, among others.
