The Plateau State Governor, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong has appealed for calm over the recent killings in the neighbouring communities of Bonwa/Ore-dam in Bassa Local Government Area and Vom in Jos-South Local Government Area.
Governor Lalong while assuring inhabitants of the two Local Councils of Government determination to protect lives and property, said the security agencies have been mandated to ensure an end to this dastardly act, while also ensuring they fish out the criminal elements and prosecute all those responsible for the killings.
He noted that Government would not allow the hard earned peace in the state to be ruined by the sheer criminal intentions of conflict entrepreneurs. He added that the laws of the land are there for anyone legitimately aggrieved to seek justice instead of taking the laws into their hands.
The Governor advised communities to always respect each others’ tradition, culture and beliefs. He extended his condolences and prayers for the comfort of families of the deceased and victims of the heinous crime.
