10 burnt to death on Lagos/Ibadan expressway crash

At least, no fewer than 10 people were on Tuesday night burnt to death beyond recognition on the Lagos/Ibadan expressway in a ghastly motor accident.
New Nigerian gathered that no fewer that 2 others sustained burnt and injuries during the auto crash which involved a Mack truck and a Lagos coloured commercial Danfo bus, marked Lagos AGL 866 XA.
It was learnt that trouble started around the South Energy axis of the expressway when the commercial bus said to be heading towards Ibadan from Lagos with about 12 passengers reportedly lost control after which it had an head-on-Collission with the Mack truck.
Eye witness account said the head on collision resulted in a loud explosion from the commercial bus after which it caught fire burning beyond recognition nearly all its passengers while the fire suddenly spread into the truck burning two of those in the truck beyond recognition.
Speaking with the New Nigerian, the Oyo State Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Public Relations Officer, Mr Tunde Onijala said about 8 burnt human carcass were recovered from the scene of the auto crash by FRSC men on operation at the scene of the auto crash.
According to Mr Onijala, the burnt bodies may have being among those that met their untimely death in the auto crash and were removed with the carcass of the burnt vehicles from the scene to allow for free traffic.
Also, Mr Onijala confirmed that early Wednesday
there was another minor auto crash along Guru Maharaji village with no life lost, saying, “the second accident was a minor one, it was not fatal as initially speculated. What actually happened in his case was that he was trying to overtake an articulated vehicle, but having taken off, he could not sustain the speed and had the side of the vehicle beating the long vehicles and only the driver sustained minor injury”.
