AUN To Introduce New Courses, Matriculates 157

The American University of Nigeria, (AUN), is working out modalities with the National University Commission (NUC) to introduce degree  courses in Engeering, Medicine and Public Health.

The President of the University,Margie Ensign,made this known at the matriculation of  157 students for class of 2018 and 2020  in Yola.

According to her, as rapid growing University in Africa, the AUN hope to introduce  School of Engineering, Medicine and Public Health,as soon as we have approval from the Institution’s board and the National University Commission (NUC).

 Ensign also reiterated AUNs commitments to supporting the orphans and  Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in North-East region of the country devastated by insurgency.

 Ensign noted that,the institution is currently carrying out Reconciliation programs in Michika,Mubi and Madagali local government area of the state,with a view to restore hope and confidence in the minds of returnees.

 She the University,is expecting sponsorship from international community to expand  Peace  through  Sports Programs (PTSP) Feeding and Reading Program (FRP),as well as AUN/Adamawa Peace Initiative (AAPI) to Borno and Yobe  states respectively.

 “AUN would replicate the program of reaching out to orphans,we had for four years to Borno and Yobe states”.

 Ensign thanked faculty members,who she described brought great honor and recognitions to the University through their research and teaching which solves societal challenges of the immediate environment.

 The Assistant Vice President,Recruitment and Marketing, Linus Ikyurav however, pointed out that 4000 Entry applications were received from all over the world,out of which 121 applications were successful admitted in to the University as under graduate students.

 Other were 18 students admitted for PGD  programs as well as 18 others to study Masters degrees in the University”.

 Mr Byron Bullock, who is the Vice President for Campus Life and Dean of Students Affairs, urged the newly admitted student to make every day in their life on the campus count.

 One of the matriculated student, Abdullahi Muhammad from Gombe State, promise to justify the confidence reposed in him by his parents, through hard working and dedication to excel through all the courses in the University.
