The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Adamawa State chapter has thrown its weight behind former Governor of Gongola state, Ambassador Wilberforce Juta as its  candidate  for the seat of the National Chairmanship of the party.
This development arise after the party distanced itself from the action of former Special Adviser on Political Matters to Former President Goodluck Jonathan, Barrister Ahmed Ali Gulak over his claim as the candidate for the national chairmanship of the party from the state.
A press statement signed by the state chairman of the party, Chief Joel Madaki and made available to newsmen, the state chapter of the party said it took the action after due consultation with party stakeholders in the state and beyond.
Madaki noted that the decision of the party to support the emergence of Juta was in the best interest of the state chapter of the party for the position to return to the state.
“We hereby resolved to support the candidature of Ambassador Wilberforce B. Juta a former Governor of the defunct Gongola State, one of the founding members of the PDP, a member of G34, first National Vice Chairman North East and current member of the Board of Trustees
of the party.
“That it is imperative the PDP resuscitates itself as a key political party for the purpose of both proffering effective opposition and an alternative platform.
“That such a repositioning need the support of the people as well as a strong experienced and respectable personality with impeccable integrity to lead the party as its National chairman,” Madaki noted.
