The Party Chairman, Alhaji Samaila Musa Dan Arewa and other chieftains along with their supporters in Zaria Local Government, on Wednesday dumped PDP for APC barely four days to the governorship and House of Assembly elections in Kaduna State.

At a meeting with the Senator Elect,  Kaduna North Senatorial District, Suleiman Abdu Kwari, the PDP Chairman of Zaria Local government Alhaji Samaila Musa Dan Arewa, Sarkin Gandu, defected.

He said the decision to dump the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC) was borne out the desire to support Governor Nasir el-Rufai’s re-election bid so that he can continue the good works he has started in infrastructural development and other social investment programmes which are geared towards improving the well-being of their people.

The PDP Chairman also remarked that some of the superior qualities of Malam Nasir el-Rufai like education, capacity,  competence and experience are unmatched with those of the PDP governorship candidate.

The Local government Party chairman further said that the People”s Democratic Party (PDP) is long dead in Kaduna State.

“The state party leadership and exco is so corrupt, lack focus and only pursue their individual selfish political interests.

“They impose unqualified persons as candidates against the wishes and aspirations of party members,” he alleged.

While receiving the PDP Chairman  the Senator elect, Alhaji Suleman Abdu Kwari  congratulated the chairman and his teaming supporters for the wise decision that they took.

He also assured them that they would be treated equally and fairly with other members of the APC in Zaria Local government and at the state level.

Zaria Local Government Area emerged  that which produced the highest votes for President Muhammadu Buhari during the last presidential elections which were held on February 23, 2019 out of the 774 Local governments in Nigeria with 111,082.
