Zamfara Gives N4m Reward For Recovery Of 4 AK47 Riffles

Zamfara State Government on Tuesday presented four million Naira reward to two communities and individual who assisted in the recovery of four assorted AK47 riffles.
The cash reward is a follow up to the promise made by the state governor, Abdul’Aziz Yari Abubakar to give one million Naira reward to anybody or community who assists in the recovery of AK47 riffles as means of curbing the rising rate of insecurity in the state.
Presenting the cash reward, governor Yari represented by the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Bello Dankande Gamji said the reward was part of efforts to sustain the cash donation to those who recover arms, the money will be sourced from the security votes of the state.
“This action will help to reduce the number of illegal arms in circulation which by extension assists in controlling the current insecurity challenges in the state”, he said.
Yari added that his administration decided to recruit the 8,500 youths to serve as Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) to assist the conventional security in intelligence gathering and fight against criminality in the state.
Matuzgi and Kauyen Malamai communities in Talata Mafara and Maradun local government areas of the state received one million Naira each while a driver names withheld received two million Naira for knocking down two bandits carrying two AK47 riffles.
