Zamfara: Former Governor Yarima Drums Support For Matawalle

First executive governor and political leader of Zamfara State, Senator Ahmad Sani Yarima has called on the people of the state to support the incumbent governor, Dr Bello Mohammed for the development of the state.
Yarima made the plea at the Government House, Gusau while speaking when he visited to congratulate Governor Mohammed over his victory as the fourth executive governor of the state.
The leader of the All Progressives Party (APC) in the state said the emergence of governor Bello Mohammed was an act of God which must be accepted by all and sundry regardless of political affiliations.
“There is the need by all well meaning citizens of the state to come together and support the governor with good and genuine advises that will promote development and the wellbeing of the people of the state”, he said.

Yarima who ruled Zamfara state for eight years between 1999 and 2007, and also represented the Zamfara West Senatorial Zone for 12 years between 2007 and 2019, described governor Mohammed who served under him as a Commissioner in various ministries during his reign as the governor as a man of destiny.

Yarima said the time of politicking was over and now is the time for governance which requires the input and involvement of the people who want development in Zamfara state.

“I promise to support this administration in all possible ways especially in the area of this current security challenges facing the state so that lasting peace can return to our dear state”, Yarima assured.

Responding, governor Mohammed commended Yarima for his statesmanship describing the Senator as a rare gem and one of the best governor that the state ever had.
He urged the former governor to continue to be a leading example and also prayed to Allah to continue to guide him.
“This administration intends to form an all encompassing Elders Forum which will be meeting monthly to discuss ways of improving governance and also how to improve the standard of living of the people of the state”, he said.
