Zamfara APC Candidates List Controversy To End Before Polls – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari
President Muhammad Buhari has assured that the current crisis rocking the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) following the outcome of the party primaries in some states particularly Zamfara will end before the next Saturday Presidential polls.
Buhari who is seeking for a second term on the platform of APC gave the assurance on Sunday during the APC Presidential campaign rally in Zamfara State.
He said all the contending issues  will end before Saturday and allow the party to present candidates for the general elections.
Speaking further, Buhari said that despite foreign support to the Boko Haram insurgents, the Federal Government is winning the war particularly in the North East.
“Before the assumption of this administration in 2015, many local government areas were under the control of the Boko Haram but presently no part of the country is in the hands of the insurgents”,  he said.
Buhari also said the fight against corruption is now a bit difficult than when he was the military Head of State, but despite the difficulty he is committed to ensuring that all those who loot the resources of the country are brought to book.
“As a military Head of State, I jailed corrupt people but unfortunately I was also put to prison and the corrupt politicians were released and their loot returned to them”, he said.
Buhari however present APC flag to anybody in the state as done in all states visited by the campaign team.
APC national chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole said the party is seeking legal means to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) stand on the rejection of APC candidates list in some states including Zamfara.
“Don’t be disturbed as APC will participate and win the general elections in the country. We will not allow the PDP to be given free positions in this state”, he said.
Earlier, Zamfara state governor, Alhaji Abdul’Aziz Yari Abubakar said all what the party is doing in Zamfara was based on the State High Court verdict.
“As law abiding people, we will wait for the outcome of the suit by the party national headquarters and therefore cannot force Mr President to present flag to our governorship candidate”, he said.
Mammoth crowd of APC supporters trooped to the Zamfara Trade Fair Complex, Gusau venue of the presidential campaign rally.
