Yuletide: NEMA Flags Off Operation Eagle Eye In Adamawa

In its efforts to ensure a smooth and safe driving during the yuletide period, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Yola Opration Office has flags off Operation Eagle Eye campaign in Adamawa State.

The campaign according to Igue Terry, Head NEMA Search and Rescue, Yola  Operation Office is meant to enlighten road users on the need to be extra careful during the holiday.

Terry  maintained that the campaign is carried out every festive month to sensitize motorist, inorder to reduce accident on our highway.

He said NEMA is collaborating with the Federal Roads Safety Corp (FRSC), Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp(NSCDC) and other stakeholder to ensure safety on our roads.

Speaking during the flag off, the State Sector Commandant of the FRSC Adegoke Adetunji, said the campaign is timely as the yuletide season is that time of the year when motorist need to exercise extra caution.

Adetunji who commended NEMA  for the laudable initiative urged road users to ensure their motor tyre are ok befor embarking on any journey.

During the campaign tagged ‘Safety Above All’, motorist were told always keep to their left when driving, adjust speed to the road condition, and to wear their seat belt at all times.

Road users were advised not to drink and drive, not to use mobile phone while driving and not to tailgate.
