The Obol Lopon of Ugep and the Paramount Ruler of Yakurr Local Government Area, Obol Ubi Ujong Inah, has donated parcels of land to the State Government for model farm projects and cluster rice farming.
Speaking during the visit of the agricultural sensitization team from Governor’s office, Ministry of Agriculture, RIFAN and Cross River State Rice Company, the Obol Lopon congratulated the governor for his re-election and described him as a blessing to state.
Furthermore, he announced the donation of parcels of land for demonstration plots and cluster rice farming to the state government.
Inah enjoined all farmers in Yakurr to key into the agricultural revolution programme of the state governor, Senator Ben Ayade’s administration.
Earlier in his remark, the team leader, Sir. Oliver Ntui, Special Assistant to the governor on Agricultural Enterprise Development, commended his Royal Majesty, the Obol Lopon of Ugep for his warm hospitality.
He solicited his support for the revolutionary agricultural programmes/projects of the state governor.
Ntui informed that government will continue to support farmers in the areas of rice, ginger, cassava farming, etc., with farming inputs, requisite technologies/innovations, training as well as cash support.
