Governor Nasiru Ahmad el-Rufai of Kaduna State on Tuesday said, his government is committed to promoting women in the state into key positions as women play vital roles in leadership positions.
The Governor expressed this when he received a thank you visit by representatives of the people of Sanga Local Government Area held at Government House on Tuesday in Kaduna.
el-Rufai welcomed the people from Sanga Local Government over the emergence of Dr Hadiza Balarabe to be his running mate comes 2019 Governorship election.
He said the emergence of Dr. Hadiza Balarabe has to do with her education, experience, intergrity and she has shown honesty, hard work in all the areas of her services.
The Governor emphasised that as the head of the government, he works and appoints dedicated people not by sentiment rather those that will work and deliver to the people.
According to him, the emergence of Dr Hadiza Balarabe is not a Muslim-Muslim ticket rather a dedication to service.
He pledged to meet up their challenges which were tabled before him, assuring that the state government is ready to tackle every issue bothering them.
The leader of the delegation, Etu of Gwantu, HRH, Gen. Aliyu Yamma (rtd), said they were in government house on an appreciation visit to the governor for choosing one of their own, Dr Hadiza Balarabe as his running mate in the 2019 general elections.
He commanded the state government for the audience given to them, while he pledged to give their people good leadership, fairness in their entire chiefdoms and the entire state.
On her part, Mrs Charity Shekari spoke on behalf of the women, said women are universal factor.
“The governor is setting a pace as something good is about to happen in our lives,” she added.
She called on Sanga people to put their hands together and be united to achieve their positive goals.
Also part of the delegation were the Ochu Fadan Ninzo, Alhaji Umar Musa, representative of the Agwom Fadan Ayu, Malam Mohammed Yahaya, Mrs Charity Shekari, and the Chairmen of CAN & JNI in Sanga Local Government.
